Mr. John Bosco Eris Lothike, MA, BA

Consultant – Development & Governance

Mr. Lothike is a Development and Governance expert with 25 years of experience in the East African region, working as a development expert in Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs). He has worked at senior levels with international organisations like Oxfam GB, Mercy Corps, ACDI VOCA and New York State University Department of International Development. He has also worked with the private sector including Kenya Power and Tullow Oil Company where he was the Head of Corporate Affairs.

As a senior professional with vast knowledge in strategic management and leadership, Mr Lothike has a track record leading and managing complex programmes that combine emergency response, long-term development and governance. Besides, he has extensive experience in consortium management, inter-governmental relations and partnership development, having coordinated and worked with national and county/district governments institutions in Kenya, Malawi, Somaliland and Uganda, as well as with civil society organizations. He possesses excellent skills in programme development, with a deeper understanding of project cycle management – design, planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
Mr. Lothike has good skills in resilience programming, monitoring and evaluation, organizational capacity assessments and capacity building of non-state actors to enhance programme quality. As a resilience and governance expert with wider knowledge in policy formulation, sector planning, strategic planning at national and county levels, Mr. Lothike has implemented and consulted for USAID projects in Kenya that encompass Agile and Harmonized Assistance for Devolved Institutions (USAID AHADI), Mission Organizational Development (USAID MODS) and USAID NAWIRI. His recent consultancy with USAID MODS included Doing County Context and Systems Analysis which aimed at establishing Local Development Organization (LDO) in Turkana County.

Mr. Lothike is a holder of a Master of Arts Degree in Governance and Ethics (2022) from Mt. Kenya University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology and Linguistics (1994) from Kenyatta University.
