Dr. Washington Adede Ochola, PhD, MSc, BSc

Lead Consultant – Food Security, Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning

Dr. Washington Adede Ochola is PhD holder in Agricultural Extension and Rural Development, a Master of Science Degree in Agricultural Extension and a BSc Degree in Agricultural Education and Extension. He is a multi-talented individual currently working as a Senior Lecturer of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development in the Department of Agricultural Education and Extension, School of Agriculture and Natural Resource Management at Kisii University in Kenya.

Dr. Ochola previously worked in various fields of community development, including working as a Lead Agricultural Strategy Development Expert for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Lead Consultant in conducting End Term Evaluation for the GROW Project of Lutheran World Relief in East and Southern Africa; Regional M & E specialist for Mild-May International – Kenya; Agricultural Extension Research Scientist at Sugar Research Institute (former Kenya Sugar Research Foundation KESREF) and many more.

 Dr. Ochola is particularly experienced in Monitoring and Evaluation, programme Design and Implementation, and Agricultural Research and Extension. He has used his strength and experience to lead Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning assignments in the country and the region professionally and successfully. His long experience in Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, and Rural Development has provided him with the perfect opportunity to draw from the wealth of knowledge of associate consultants operating in the region.

Dr. Ochola has extensive research experience having successfully undertaken food security, natural resources and environmental management related projects supported and for African Development Bank, National Research Fund, Alliance One Tobacco Ltd., Mildmay International Project/European Commission, C-MAD Supported by DWHH/GAA and financed by European Commission and several academic research projects.

Dr. Ochola is Registered Member of Kenya Forum of Agricultural Advisory Services (KeFAAS). It is a network organization whose core objective is to bring under one framework all players in agricultural extension.
