Mr. Christopher Eporon Ekuwom, MBA, MSc, BA

Lead Consultant – Livelihoods, Humanitarian Action and Development & Organizational Development

Christopher Eporon Ekuwom is a consulatant with over 20 years field experience and is currently a Director on the Board of Directors of the North Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency (NRVWWDA). He is an active member of the board in the provision of oversight to the agency’s management, operational issues, and core mandate, and execution of the agency’s policies, and water programs.
Before being appointed as the a board Director in the NRVWWDA in December 2020, Christopher was employed as the County Executive Committee Member/Minister responsible for the supervision and coordination of both the County and National laws, policies, and regulations that were relevant to county departments of Ministry of Pastoral economy and Fisheries; County Veterinary Services, Livestock Production, and Fisheries Services. He provided oversight and support to the key county’s pastoralist livestock protection, safeguarding and rebuilding of various livelihoods, and fisheries protection, enforcement, and management of the fisheries ecosystem for sustainability purposes.
Before being appointed to work with the Turkana County Government, Christopher worked with a world reputable organization Oxfam GB in various capacities such as logistics, humanitarian and development programs in Turkana and Northeastern Kenya. He was responsible for supervising and coordinating the development of livestock-related projects and Humanitarian Emergency Response projects such as Relief food, Cash For Work, Livestock vaccination, and treatment campaigns and shoats de-stocking and restocking. He also supported the implementation of the water and sanitation projects and diversified livelihoods aimed at enhancement of food & income security for the vulnerable pastoral communities.
He has earned various skills and competencies from different work employments, relevant academic studies, and experiences such as humanitarian interventions management, development programs management, and livelihoods building and protection in both mild and complex emergency contexts and normal development situations. He has earned competencies in adaptability, analytical skills, financial skills, operations management, leadership and HRM competencies, problem-solving ability, teamwork and strategic decision management, Community dialogue and targeting processes, and Emergency food commodities distribution.
Christopher earned an MBA from the University of the People (USA), and an MSc. in Development Management from the Open University (UK) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences (Sociology, Economics, Psychology, and Anthropology) from Commonwealth University, BVI, UK.
